Evaluation of Heavy Metals Concentration in Poultry Feed and Poultry Products

The study was conducted to determine the absorption of essential and non-essential trace minerals from poultry feed products. Poultry feed, liver, muscles, egg samples were collected six farms in Rawalpindi Islamabad. Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, Chromium, Iron analyzed using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrophotometer. Iron, Chromium exceeded permissible limits set by World Health Organization National Research Council feed. Lead high breast thigh albumen, yolk. found yolk, two (02) liver muscle samples. Mercury not detected any contains significantly higher concentrations heavy metals as compared muscles yolk contained albumen. Standards requirements for manufacturers farmers should be maintained monitor mitigate routes entry contaminants food chain.
